Meet April Rutherford, MD

Dr. April Rutherford joined Obstetrics and Gynecology Associates in September 2024, bringing a fresh perspective, extensive training, and a genuine passion for women’s health to the practice. Born and raised in Central Florida, Dr. Rutherford is proud to care for the community she has always called home.

Dr. Rutherford earned her Medical Degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School before returning to Central Florida to complete her OB/GYN residency at Winnie Palmer Hospital. Her training has provided her with a strong foundation in comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care, and she is dedicated to creating a comfortable, supportive environment where patients feel heard, respected, and confident in their care.

Dr. Rutherford believes that every patient deserves individualized attention and compassionate care. She takes the time to listen to her patients, answer their questions, and partner with them in making informed decisions about their health. Her approachable personality and commitment to building meaningful patient relationships make her a wonderful addition to the practice.

Having grown up in Central Florida, Dr. Rutherford feels a special connection to the community she serves. She is excited to continue caring for women in the area and to be part of their healthcare journey through every stage of life.

Outside of the office, Dr. Rutherford enjoys traveling and discovering new places, experiences, and cultures. She values spending time away from medicine exploring the world and creating lasting memories. Her love of travel and her deep roots in Central Florida reflect her appreciation for both new experiences and the importance of community and connection.
